Hurley staging

In daily practice, simple measuring scales such as the Hurley staging system are recommended.

This makes it possible to evaluate the different areas affected.

Table of stages

Stage Ⅰ

Single or multiple abscesses, without formation of sinus tracts or cicatrisation.
Stage Ⅱ

Recurrent abscesses with fistulisation and hypertrophic cicatrisation. Single or multiple abscesses separated from each other.
Stage Ⅲ

Diffuse involvement, or interconnected fistulas, and abscesses across the whole area affected.
