Epidemiological data on cold urticaria in France are limited, but a few key points can be noted:

Its prevalence is estimated to be around 0.05% in Central Europe [Möller, 1996]. Cold urticaria is thought to rank second in frequency among inducible urticarias (UCInd) after dermographism.

• Age and gender: It can occur at any age but is often diagnosed in young adults. Studies show a slightly higher prevalence in women than in men.
• Triggers: Cases often occur during exposure to cold, whether through swimming in cold water, cold air, or even consuming cold foods.

There are several types of cold urticaria, including familial forms, but only the primary acquired form (the most common) is addressed in these recommendations.
